A weekend option outside the city

Northeast Philadelphia neighborhoods like Somerton, Bustleton, Fox Chase, Parkwood and Byberry border lower Bucks County. When a dental problem starts on a Friday or over the weekend, Bucks Emergency Dental is one option outside the city that is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We are at 626 Street Rd in Southampton, north of the city line. From most of the Northeast, that means heading north toward Bucks County; roads such as Bustleton Ave and Roosevelt Boulevard area routes lead toward Street Rd depending on where you start. Use the map link for exact directions.

Emergency room or dentist?

Hospital emergency rooms are the right place for airway problems, spreading facial swelling, a broken jaw or uncontrolled bleeding. For most other dental emergencies, such as a toothache, a broken tooth, a lost crown or a tooth that needs to come out, a dentist can usually do more, because a dental office has the X-ray equipment and instruments to treat the tooth itself.

What to expect

We are out of network, but we file your insurance claim for you as a courtesy, and our billing coordinator can estimate your coverage before treatment. Cherry and CareCredit financing are available, and we accept all major cards.

Bring photo ID, your insurance card if you have one and a list of medications. Call (215) 357-6241.

When to go to the hospital instead

Swelling that is closing an eye or spreading down the neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a possible broken jaw, or bleeding that will not stop after 20 minutes of firm pressure all need an emergency room or 911, not a dental office. If you are unsure, go to the hospital.
