A cracked tooth, a chip from a fall or a sharp edge cutting your tongue. Call and we will see you the same day, Friday to Sunday.

Some breaks are cosmetic and only need smoothing or bonding. Others expose the inner part of the tooth and can lead to pain or infection if they are left alone. It is hard to tell which is which by looking in a mirror, which is why an exam and X-ray help.
If a whole tooth was knocked out, time matters. Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it in milk or saline without scrubbing, put it back in the socket if you can, or keep it in a cup of milk and call us right away.
After the $99 emergency exam and X-ray, the dentist explains the options for your tooth. Depending on the damage, that can mean smoothing a small chip, a filling or temporary restoration to protect the tooth, a root canal if the nerve is involved, or an extraction if the tooth cannot be saved. Some repairs, like a permanent crown, need a lab. In that case we protect the tooth today and set up the next step.
If the broken tooth is throbbing, see our toothache page. If a crown or filling fell out rather than the tooth breaking, see lost filling or crown.
A cracked tooth can feel fine one day and hurt the next. Pain when you release a bite, or sharp sensitivity to cold, are common signs. Getting it checked early often means a simpler fix.
Please call (215) 357-6241 before you head over, or use the online booking link, so we can have a chair ready. Every emergency visit starts with a $99 exam and X-ray. The dentist looks at the tooth, explains what is causing the problem in plain language, and quotes any treatment before anything starts. Same-day options in the office include extractions, root canals and temporary restorations. If something needs a specialist or a lab, the goal is to get you comfortable today and set up the next step.
Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, and a list of the medications you take. We are out of network, but our billing coordinator files your claim as a courtesy and can estimate your coverage before treatment. Cherry and CareCredit financing are available, and we take all major cards.

Go to the emergency room or call 911 instead of calling us if you have any of these:
A dental infection that reaches the airway is life threatening. If you are unsure, go to the hospital.
A small chip without pain can often wait a few days, but a break with pain, bleeding, a sharp edge or exposed inner tooth should be seen soon. When in doubt, call and describe it.
Often we can protect or repair it the same day. Some repairs, like permanent crowns, need a lab, so we protect the tooth first.
Keep it in milk, handle it by the crown, and call (215) 357-6241 right away during our hours. If you also have a jaw injury, go to the ER.
The emergency exam and X-ray is $99. Treatment is quoted before we start.
